Team TargetCancer Foundation 2020

 2020 Team TCF Logo

In response to COVID-19 and public health concerns, the Boston Athletic Association ultimately had to cancel the Boston Marathon for the first time in its 124 year history. Although incredibly disappointed that we won’t have the opportunity to cheer them across the Boston Marathon finish line in 2020, we are sending our sincere thanks to Ryan Carey, Justin Feldman, Tafadzwa Muguwe, and DJ Webster, the four members of Team TargetCancer Foundation 2020. They have accomplished so much over the past six months as they prepared for the 2020 Boston Marathon, while also raising over $30,000 for rare cancer research and patient support.

We at TargetCancer Foundation want to take a moment to thank all those who have supported Justin, Taf, Ryan, and DJ in their training and fundraising efforts to date. All previous donations were immediately provided directly to TargetCancer Foundation when they were made. That support is proving more important than ever, helping to ensure that our programs remain up and running during this uncertain time.

TY Team TCF 2020

Our 2020 team features the return of some familiar faces as well as the introduction of new members into our TCF community:

  • We are pleased to have DJ return to the team as he takes on the Boston Marathon for a second time wearing TCF green.
  • Following in the footsteps of his two brothers, Ryan is continuing the Carey family tradition of running the Boston Marathon for Team TCF.
  • Taf, who also works in the field of cancer-focused health care, is a veteran marathoner who brings an incredible amount of running expertise and passion to the team.
  • Justin’s unbridled enthusiasm stemming from a decade-long commitment to supporting cancer research will help power the team up and over Heartbreak Hill.

Read more about each of these incredible team members, and the paths that led them to Team TCF.

Please join us in supporting our athletes who are raising funds that reach TargetCancer Foundation in real time, immediately impacting our work. Don’t forget to check to see if your company matches charitable donations, as you have the potential to double the size of your gift!

Our sincere thanks to the John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program for providing TargetCancer Foundation with Boston Marathon entries.
