Events

Events have always been important at TargetCancer Foundation- they provide opportunities to celebrate our community and milestones, and serve as a critical avenue to raising funds for our work.

The TargetCancer Foundation Gala

The first Gala took place in 2010, and a decade later this special evening continues to be TargetCancer Foundation’s primary annual fundraiser and community-building event. The Gala unites over 300 supporters, patients, caregivers, doctors, researchers, and advocacy partners around the common goal of raising awareness and funds to directly support TCF’s rare cancer research and patient support initiatives.

You can find details and tickets for the 2024 Gala here.

Team TCF – Boston Marathon

As a proud official Partner of the John Hancock Boston Marathon Non-Profit Program, TargetCancer Foundation fields an annual team of runners. In conjunction with their training, these team members raise awareness about rare cancer and fundraise to support TCF’s mission and goals.

Since 2015, members of Team TCF have raised $270,000 that directly supported TCF’s work. We are grateful to the 18 members of Team TCF and their communities for this incredible achievement.

Applications for the team traditionally open in September-please check targetcancerfoundation.org/marathon if you are interested in applying.

Scientific Meetings

TargetCancer Foundation Think Tanks unite an interdisciplinary group of researchers and clinicians in a unique format to promote collaboration, information sharing, and idea generation focused on a specific cancer type. These diverse perspectives allow for a more comprehensive discussion of shared research and treatment challenges, goals, and best practices. As of 2020, TargetCancer Foundation has held five such Think Tanks, four focused on gastroesophageal cancer and one focused on cholangiocarcinoma.

Community Fundraisers

Dedicated community members have always found creative ways to contribute to TargetCancer Foundation’s efforts funding rare cancer research and patient support. Fundraisers hosted in local communities range from golf tournaments to walks, and some have become beloved local traditions. We are grateful for the dozens of events that have been hosted on our behalf over the past decade. If you are interested in hosting your own community fundraiser, please contact Samantha Sullivan: samantha@targetcancerfoundation.org.
